Abortion is not only an unplanned surgical intrusion into the organism of a woman, but a difficult moral decision that can become a traumatic experience for a woman. Many women feel guilty after it and it brings them many sufferings. It the so-called post-abortion syndrome. There are many different points of view on this question in the society and the flaming discussions about the morality of this operation all over the world never stop.

Social factors significant role in a woman’s feelings after the abortion. No matter what are her plans and life circumstances, she experiences the feeling of loss. In case with the death of the close friend or relative, there will be surely enough people to stand with a woman and give her necessary moral support. But when women come back from abortion clinics with the painful feeling of emptiness and guilt inside, there is much less understanding for them among people. There is much more shaming and judgmental opinions that create additional stress for a woman and only increase the feeling of guilt for her decision.

No matter what were the reasons you have decided to make an abortion – no one has the right to judge you. It is your life, your body and your choice. Children are happy only when they are desired, planned and a woman feels the willingness to become a mother and raise the new life. There are many unhappy families, and children that grow into adults with childhood traumas only because their parents were not ready for what they will have to face.

Nowadays the society becomes more democratic and a woman’s life is not only for motherhood. She is free to decide how she wants to live and what goals she wants to achieve. No one has the right to tell her what she should do with her life and any choice she makes deserves respect. There are now many pro-choice communities in the social media that create platforms for moral support of women in any circumstances, including post-abortion syndrome.
